HOW CLOSE CAN I BEACH? is a half-hour reality series that follows prospective home buyers how consider a house directly on the water to be ideal, but are willing to find out how much more house they can enjoy when the property is just a short walk or bike ride away from the sand. HGTV debuted HOW CLOSE CAN I BEACH? at 11pm ET/PT on Sunday, July 9, 2017, airing a single 30-minute program. Six months later on Monday, January 1, 2018 from 4-5pm ET/PT, HGTV premiered back-to-back episodes of HOW CLOSE CAN I BEACH? as a special preview: "Staying Inspired on Nantucket" (4pm): An artist inspired by her vacations on Nantucket Island is ready to settle down into beach living full time. She and her friend set out to find a quaint Nantucket home at the right price. and "Cooling Down on Cape Cod" (4:30pm): After years of living in a cramped house in Cape Cod, a couple is ready to find a home big enough for their growing family. Instead of wasting time driving, they're ready to live as close to the beach as they can, so they enlist a realtor friend to help them search for the perfect fit.

On Sunday, March 11, 2018 at 8:30pm ET/PT, HGTV debuted the official series premiere of HOW CLOSE CAN I BEACH?. In the season opener, "Newlyweds Set Sail in Oceanside," newlyweds that have been renting a tiny apartment for years are ready to buy a home for their future family. They love life on the water and are looking for a beachfront property in Oceanside, CA, but their different ideas about the budget puts their search to the test.

Season 2 of HOW CLOSE CAN I BEACH? premiered on Sunday, March 17, 2019 from 8-9pm ET/PT, as HGTV debuted back-to-back new episodes:

"Home-In-One on St. Simons Island" (8pm): After falling in love years ago while attending a golf tournament on the island, a couple is ready to move to the golfer's paradise of St. Simons Island, Georgia. Knowing they'll be living in a hot spot for their favorite pastime, their next decision will be determining if they want to live on the beach, on a boat or somewhere in between.

"Breezy Boardwalk Dreams" (8:30pm): An Annapolis, Maryland, couple is tired of dealing with traffic and wants to move full-time to Ocean City. Having grown up in the area, they're hoping to give their kids the same positive experiences that come with living near the world-famous boardwalk and gorgeous beaches.
