Directed by Julian P. Hobbs, HOW TO CREATE A SEX SCANDAL is a three-part documentary that centers on the Mineola Swingers Club. In 2005, the sleepy community of Mineola, Texas, is thrown into turmoil when local children reveal shocking stories about a pedophile sex ring that took place at a local swingers club. As arrests are made, life sentences handed down, and lives ruined, it soon becomes apparent that there is a lot more to the story than meets the eye. Now, the startling long-term repercussions of the scandal are revealed. All three episodes of HOW TO CREATE A SEX SCANDAL dropped on Tuesday, May 23, 2023 on Max, the same day the streaming service relaunched with its new name, replacing HBO Max. Episodes include:

"When the Swingers Came to Town": In 2005, the sleepy community of Mineola, Texas, is thrown into turmoil when local children reveal shocking stories about a pedophile sex ring that took place at a local swingers club.

"Smoke and Mirrors": The trial of the fourth person accused of operating a pedophile ring at the Mineola Swingers Club is dramatically thrown off course when one of the children whose testimony has proved vital to the investigation and previous trials reveals a shocking truth.

"Sex, Lies, and Videotapes": Convictions are quashed, families reunited, and the final truth is exposed.
