Plot Synopsis

HUSTLING AMERICA is a one-hour reality series that follows TV conman Alexis 'Alex' Conran, as he travels across the United States making proposition bets with average Americans. Prop bets are outlandish sounding wagers that are almost impossible to win unless you know the cunning secret behind them. Alex's goal? To measure himself against the greatest hustlers in the country where these ideas were invented. In each 60-minute episode, Alex travels to a different American city, including: Dallas, where he meets the son of legendary hustler Titanic Thompson and cons an unsuspecting car dealer to win himself a brand-new yellow muscle car; Las Vegas, where attempts a few cons created by old-school hustler Amarillo Slim and then, once in Vegas, bets on flies landing on sugar cubes, outruns a horse on foot and meets the man who had breast implants to win $100,000; and New York, where he challenges a ping-pong pro named Dora the Destroyer using an old conman's trick. Nat Geo aired the U.S. premiere of this series on Wednesday, March 5, 2014 at 9pm ET/PT, showing two, back-to-back episodes.
