Plot Synopsis

Inspired by Vanessa Bayer's own story of overcoming childhood leukemia, I LOVE THAT FOR YOU is a half-hour comedy series that centers on Joanna Gold, who dreams of becoming a host at a home-shopping channel. Working to shed her life-long label as "that cancer girl," she moves away from her parents, starts a budding romance for the first time in her adult life and forms a meaningful friendship with her idol Jackie, all against the backdrop of a highly competitive workplace run by an unstable billionaire, where people play dirty to succeed. On Sunday, April 17, 2022 at 10pm ET/PT, Showtime premiered a half-hour sneak peek of I LOVE THAT FOR YOU.

The series officially debuted two weeks later on Sunday, May 1 at 8:30pm ET/PT on Showtime, but the first episode was available a few days early on Friday, April 29 on streaming and on demand. In the series opener, "GottaHaveIt," no longer wanting to be defined by her childhood illness, Joanna gets her dream job as a host on the home shopping channel SVN. But when her first broadcast doesn't go as planned, Joanna makes a bold choice to save her fate at the network.

On Sunday, June 19, 2022 at 8:30pm ET/PT, Showtime premiered "Shop Cancer's Ass," the season finale of I LOVE THAT FOR YOU. Joanna faces the repercussions of her lie during SVN's big charity weekend.
