Plot Synopsis

ICE HOLES is a half-hour reality series that follows a tight-knit group of ice fishermen -- Wade, Alex, Wob, Todd and Josh -- as they compete against each other every weekend in hopes of catching the big one. These ice-fishing fanatics have waited nine months for temperatures to drop low enough to freeze the lakes so they can walk on water and drop in their lines. With personal bets for bragging rights and derby prizes sometimes reaching upwards of $100,000, they're willing to do whatever it takes to best their fishing buddies. The group arrives at Lake Winnipesaukee, NH, for their first ice fishing derby of the season, the King of the Lake Derby. With $600 on the line for the biggest catches, it's a mad dash to claim the best hunting grounds. Then, with no competition on schedule for the next weekend, the guys tried to relax on Lake Winnipesaukee, but the guys couldn't help but compete against each other when Donk showed up -- the first team to catch three rainbow trout will have a gourmet dinner prepared for them by the losers. Then, Wade invites the guys to his house on Moosehead Lake for some togue fishing, where they wager their lucky charms. The group heads back to New Hampshire for the two-day Great Meredith Rotary Ice Fishing Derby, with more than 6,000 entrants chasing up to $15,000 in cash prizes. Trekking over to Maine for the Sebago Derby, Wob and Todd have been looking forward to this derby all winter long, where many are hopeful that the new state record for the largest lake trout will come out of the lake. Back in New Hampshire, the guys are on a quest to help Wob catch The Giant, a legendary pickerel rumored to live in Lake Wicwas. Traveling cross country to Brainerd, MN, the guys join 10,000 other anglers for the Ice Fishing Extravaganza on Gull Lake, with more than $150,000 in prizes and 20,000 holes in the ice.
