Plot Synopsis

Michel and her husband, Jay, moved from just outside Philly to West Hollywood, where they opened Fubar, a trendsetting popular gay bar, and now live with Michel's family, including mom Dotsie, dad Big Lou and brother Louis. Michel, an unapologetic, no-nonsense Italian born and raised right outside of Philly in Cherry Hill, NJ, is a workaholic with a soft spot for family and is married to the love of her life, Jay. A self-made and successful entrepreneur, Michel always has her sights on the next big business venture, and is now working on her fifth business, party planning, which helps Jay's business pursuits. The ultimate LGBT ally, Jay moved to Los Angeles several years ago and has since opened several businesses in the area, including: 66 Restaurant and Bar on Sunset Boulevard; West Hollywood landmark and trendsetting bar Fubar; Saint Felix in West Hollywood; and a second Saint Felix location in Hollywood. At home, Jay is the peacemaker who tries to maintain sanity in his extremely blended and extended household. Their extended family includes: Big Lou, an ex-mobster and wise-cracking curmudgeon, who struggles to adjust to life with the gay son he never knew, a wife he hasn't lived with for 25 years, a new city he doesn't understand and a new line of business he never expected to be part of; Dotsie, a single mother of three at age 24 when her marriage to Lou ended, who recently ended a relationship with her longtime fiance, deciding to give California a chance as she tries to figure out her next step in life; and Louis, Michel's out-and-unapologetic gay brother, was a shore-loving, night-clubbing, gym rat with a penchant for tanning in Philly and now in Hollywood helping his sister and brother-in-law, he continues to a huge supporter for human rights while fighting for LGBT equality.
