Plot Synopsis

Host Scott McGillivray helps first-time home buyers turn part of their home into a money maker to help with mortgage. In each episode Scott presents the homeowners with options and they choose which part of the house to renovate into an apartment. Whether he's helping a homeowner turn their basement flat into a rental property or reconfigure the existing space for maximum rental income, McGillivray finds a way to use their property to help them pay their monthly expenses.
