Plot Synopsis

Inspired by Peter Temple's acclaimed crime novels of the same name, JACK IRISH is a noir crime drama series the centers on anti-hero Jack Irish, a former criminal lawyer, part-time debt collector, and a private investigator with a penchant for getting wrapped up in things he shouldn't. Aided by journalist -- and sometimes girlfriend -- Linda Hillier, Jack takes on cases that plunge him into Melbourne's criminal underbelly.

The sophomore season of JACK IRISH had its U.S. premiere on Monday, September 10, 2018 on Acorn TV. Jack stumbles into the world of manipulative pharmaceutical companies, corrupt educational institutions aimed at international students and fatal clinical trials. The apparent suicide of a foreign student triggers a chain of events that will see Jack risking his life to uncover the truth.
The third and final season of JACK IRISH had its U.S. premiere on Monday, July 12, 2021, as Acorn TV released the first episode of the new season. Season 3 delves deep into Jack's past, questioning everything he thought he knew about his life and bringing him face-to-face with an antagonist more personal and destructive than he has ever encountered. Joining Pearce once again are Jack's trusty cohorts: journalist Linda Hillier, horse racing identity Harry Strang, trusted off-sider Cam Delray, and old-school detective Barry Tregear.

In the season opener, the execution-style death of an off-duty cop rattles Barry Tregear, who asks Jack to tail ex-cop Mick Khoury, which Jack accomplishes in between parenting tasks. But when Khoury catches Jack and attacks him, the panic and shock give Barry a heart attack. At the hospital, Barry lets slip something about Isabel's death that shakes Jack to the core and prompts him to begin reinvestigating her murder.
