Plot Synopsis

Shot on location in various jails throughout the Lone Star State, JAIL: BIG TEXAS follows prison inmates from their initial booking through their first moments behind bars. Each half-hour episode captures the harsh and sometimes humorous reality of what happens to criminals after they're caught. The 20-episode first season focuses on several county jails, including those in Tarrant, El Paso County, Hidalgo County (McAllen), Randall County (Amarillo) and Jefferson County (Beaumont). The series opener features a woman who learns that texting, drinking and driving are not a good mix with her baby in the backseat of her car. Then, after his arrest for shoplifting, a young man begins to realize the consequences of his lifestyle choices.
