Plot Synopsis
In each one-hour episode, three fishermen each invites the other two anglers on a fishing trip to their neck of the woods, as competitors earn marks for number of fish caught, size of the catch, and the overall fishing experience itself. The fishermen have to learn their opponents' fishing techniques and compete in each other's home waters before one of them is crowned King Fisher. In the first episode, "Battle for America," tough-talking fishing guide Matt hosts his competitors as they target the mighty sail fish in the Florida Keys, Travis Moran hosts his opponents in a bass fishing competition in the Tahoe National Forest in Northern California, and Daniel, an obsessed sport fishing guide, hosts the final stage of the competition in Homer, Alaska, where the expert anglers fish for Pacific halibut. The second episode, "Monsters of the Rockies," features Kevin, a jet-boating hockey pro from British Columbia, hosting his opponents on the banks of the Fraser River where they fish for protected prehistoric sturgeon and Pepper, a laid-back American who lives in the Amazon, leading the anglers as they hunt the notoriously aggressive peacock bass.
