Plot Synopsis

Hosted by Jeff Mauro, KITCHEN CRASH is a one-hour culinary competition series that features professional chefs heading to a local neighborhood block for an outdoor cook-off. With only 10 minutes on the clock, each chef must convince a local homeowner on the cul-de-sac to hand over ingredients from their kitchens and pantries, with the caveat that the competing chefs can only use the items that the homeowners can fit into one bin. With no additional pantry items and no option to restock, the chefs must ration what they are given for the entire competition. Making the competition even tougher, the chefs must cook curbside as their skills are tested in challenges from Tex-Mex meals, to festival fare, to meat lover's breakfasts, and more, while the neighborhood watches. Mauro along with one special guest judge -- including Matt Abdoo, Leah Cohen, Eddie Jackson, Nilou Motamed, Christian Petroni, and Marcus Samuelsson -- decide who crushed the competition. In the end, one winning chef split a $10,000 cash prize with the lucky host family who provided the ingredients. In the series opener, "Getting Stuffed in Jersey," Jeff brings three chefs to Paramus, N.J., to ambush homeowners in search of food from their kitchens. With those ingredients, the competitors are challenged to serve Jeff and judge Christian Petroni festival-style food, something "stuffed" and street-fair dishes. In the end, one winning chef splits a cash prize with their lucky host family. After a five-month break, KITCHEN CRASH returned with new episodes on Wednesday, July 7, 2021 at 10pm ET/PT on Food Network. In the summer premiere, "Street Fare in New Jersey," three chefs meet up with host Jeff Mauro in Paramus, New Jersey, to beg homeowners to shop in their own fridges and share the bounty. The chefs are challenged to use the ingredients in festival-style food, something "stuffed" and street-fair dishes, and Jeff is joined by judge Christian Petroni to choose the winner and award the prize money.

Season 2 of KITCHEN CRASH debuted on Tuesday, July 12, 2022 at 10pm ET/PT on Food Network. On each of the four hour-long episodes, three professional chefs head to an unsuspecting local neighborhood block party on a suburban street and surprise the residents with an outdoor cook-off. These professional chefs must turn on the charm, with only 10 minutes on the clock, to convince the residents living on the block to hand over food from their fridge and provisions from their pantries to use in the competition. The residents of each household must gather all the ingredients from their kitchens for the competing chefs, who can only use the items that the homeowners fit into one bin. With no additional pantry items and no option to restock, the chefs must ration what they are given for the entire competition. The chef that can make world class dishes in their curbside kitchen will earn a cash prize to split with the family who provided the ingredients. With their bins full of ingredients, the chefs must prove their skills in curbside kitchens. They will be tested in three rounds of challenges, including savory surf and turf, French bistro fare, an elevated prom night dinner, and more. Jeff Mauro along with one special guest judge, including Cliff Crooks, Marc Murphy, Julian Rodarte, and Justin Sutherland will decide who crushed the competition. In the end, one winning chef will split a $10,000 cash prize with their lucky host family!
