Plot Synopsis

THE L.A. COMPLEX is a scripted series that follows a group of aspiring performers pursuing stardom in Los Angeles, as they live in an apartment-style motel for displaced dreamers and face the challenges and opportunities of a lifetime. In L.A. your life can change in the blink of an eye, but until then, the rent is due every month and others in the same predicament become neighbors, friends and almost like family. These young hopefuls are: Connor, an actor with drop-dead good looks and a dark past, who has just landed a leading role in his first series; Raquel, a street-smart actress who had one big hit series, but is worried she's quickly becoming yesterday's news; Nick, a struggling stand-up comedian who is always the best friend and never the boyfriend; Abby, the naive but determined young actress who gave up a boyfriend back home to stay in L.A. until she gets her big break; Alicia, a sensitive, aspiring dancer who will do whatever it takes to make ends meet; Kaldrick, the superstar hip-hop artist who hails from the streets of Oakland, California; and Tariq, the talented aspiring hip-hop artist who is hiding a secret. At the end of Season 1, Connor set fire to his own house, Abby and Nick were a couple, Raquel was pregnant, Alicia received a call to tour with Usher, and Tariq was beaten by boyfriend Kaldrick. Plus, in Season 2, the show welcomed four new characters: Donald, who is the star and executive producer of a TV series like 7TH HEAVEN; 10-year-old Simon, who moves to LA with his 18-year-old sister Beth after he makes his name in a Canadian commercial; and Jennifer, who is an A-list actress losing her relevancy with twentysomethings and trying to hide her secrets. The CW aired the U.S. premiere of this series on Tuesday, April 24, 2012 at 9pm ET.
