Plot Synopsis

Celebrity hairstylist, beauty expert, and entrepreneur Kim Kimble styles her star-studded clientele, manages a team of stylists at her exclusive West Hollywood salon, and manages a successful retail product line. Kim counts such celebrities as Beyonce, Mary J. Blige, Kelly Rowland and Shakira as clients, and this series follows her as she and her team work with Hollywood's top celebrities, such as Brandy, Laila Ali, Omarosa, Mary Mary and more. This series also features: Dontay Savoy, who learned the foundation of his craft while working with Kim and now works on the television show Access Hollywood, while also owning and running an upscale salon in West Hollywood; Angela 'Angie' Christine Stevens, who learned new hair techniques and trends as an assistant to and salon stylist for Kim and now services a full clientele in Los Angeles as well as her native Chicago; Anthony Pazos, classically trained at Vidal Sassoon and Toni & Guy, who is currently working as a freelance stylist, Anthony's home base is boutique salon, B2V, in Beverly Hills, were he divides his time between private clients, editorial shoots and film projects; Terry Hunt, the CEO of Hairhunt.com, who, with more than 20 years of hair industry experience, is one of Los Angeles leading Hair Educators, a highly coveted celebrity stylist, and a master educator in the field of cosmetology; Jasmine Kimble, Kim's mother, who opened the Phaze II salon with her daughter and built a clientle until 2000 when she bought Kim out so she could open her own salon in West Hollywood; China, who had her own booth at the prestigious Elgin Charles Salon in Beverly Hills and then finally landed at one of L.A.'s most prestigious boutique salons; and Charity Cabico, from Washington D.C., who loves making people laugh and entertaining the world. In Season 2, which premiered on WEtv on Thursday, June 6, 2013 at 10pm ET/PT, Kim unveiled her new West Hollywood salon and whipped the manes of these celebrities: Chaka Khan, Michelle Williams, Vivica Fox, Lil' Mama, LisaRaye, Kyla Pratt, Faith Evans, Fantasia, LeToya Luckett and Debbie Allen. Plus, China is demoted and Kim's sister takes over as salon manager. L.A. HAIR returned for its third season on Thursday, May 22, 2014 at 9pm ET/PT on WE tv, featuring these celebrities in Season 3: actress Gabrielle Union; songstress Macy Gray; R&B trio SWV; reality star Gretchen Rossi; supermodel Janice Dickinson; TV personality Rocsi Diaz; actress Keshia Knight Pulliam; R&B crooner/reality star Ray J; rapper Too $hort; rapper/producer Akon; and many more. In addition to dealing with demanding, A-list clientele, Kim has lofty plans to expand her business to another city. Kim's luxurious West Hollywood salon undergoes a sophisticated upgrade and in a bold business move, Kim hires a new barber, Lisa, with a celebrity roster and an explosive personality that sends shockwaves through the salon. Meanwhile, rumors run rampant when former protegee-turned-enemy Angela is looking to open her own high-end salon and is threatening to take one of Kim's top stylists, Dontay, as her partner. On Thursday, July 30, 2014 at 10pm ET/PT, WE tv premiered the fourth season of LA HAIR. In Season 4, Kim continues working with her A-list clientele, taking her brand to a whole new level. She still has lofty plans to expand her business to Atlanta, the hair capital of the world, but that dream gets put on hold when she gets a tempting offer to partner on a wig and extension line from the bad boy of Hollywood Hair, Jonathan Antin. He makes big promises with investor dollars and appearances on QVC, but is this deal too good to be true? Will Jonathan be the ally Kim has been looking for to help expand her brand? Or will he end up her worst enemy as he tries to carve out a piece of Kim's lucrative business for himself. Also this season, Kim provokes the fury of her sister Leah when she secretly hires a fiery new stylist from Atlanta, who throws the salon into chaos. In the season opener, Kim has an opportunity to style the Queen of Hip-Hop Soul, who is making her first appearance on FOX's series EMPIRE. At the same time, Kim gives marching orders to her staff to create unique looks as a pitch for an LA Fashion week event. Terry is appointed the lead, but can he take control of the staff in her absence? And when Jonathan makes a surprise appearance at the salon with a mysterious envelope, all hell breaks loose! Season 5 of LA HAIR premiered on Thursday, January 5, 2017 at 9pm ET/PT on WEtv. This season, Kim brings in five new stylists for a coveted spot at her salon, while preparing for a business and product line expansion. She also continues to grow her list of celebrity clientele, with Mya, Anthony Anderson, Chrisette Michelle, LisaRaye, and Toccara among the high-profile clients featured over the course of the season.
