Plot Synopsis

LA SHRINKS is a reality series that follows three high-end shrinks in Los Angeles, documenting sessions with their clients while also chronicling their personal lives and exposing the thin line between their clients' problems and their own. Each 60-minute episode includes sessions with two or three clients, such as: a client who requires active therapy sessions in a car; a former Playboy model who attracts the wrong kind of men; a client with bedroom issues; a client with anger issues; an interracial couple facing deep-rooted relationship intimacy issue; a couple for whom tantric sex turns awkward; clients taking a trip to the sex shop; a homophobic man whose identical twin is gay; a client who despises overweight people; and many more people who need psychological care. The three shrinks are: Dr. Venus Nicolino (aka Dr. V), Ph.D. in Clinical Psychology, who uses compassionate understanding of the human condition with an occasional dash of profanity at work and who resides in Bel Air with her husband, Matthew, an investment banker, their two sons, ages 3 and 5, and their two nephews, ages 5 and 7, under their permanent guardianship; Dr. Gregory Cason, Ph.D. in Clinical Psychology, who works in Beverly Hills specializing in cognitive therapy for individuals and couples and who lives in West Hollywood with Kevin, his "monogamish" partner of 23 years; and Eris Huemer, PsyD in Marriage & Family Therapy, who is an internationally sought after relationship counselor/coach, author, and speaker specializing in love makeovers with singles and couples and who is challenging her husband, Clayton, about starting a family of their own.
