Plot Synopsis

From the universe of the Jerry Bruckheimer/Michael Bay BAD BOYS film franchise and executive produced by series stars Gabrielle Union and Jessica Alba, L.A.'S FINEST is a one-hour drama series that follows Syd Burnett, last seen in Miami taking down a drug cartel, who has left her complicated past behind to become an LAPD detective. Paired with a new partner, Nancy McKenna, a working mom with an equally complex past, Syd is pushed to examine whether her unapologetic lifestyle might be masking a greater personal secret. These two women don't agree on much, but they find common ground when it comes to taking on the most dangerous criminals in Los Angeles -- while skirting the rules.

The first three episodes of L.A.'S FINEST debuted on Spectrum's On Demand platform on Monday, May 13, 2019 at 3:01am ET/12:01am PT, and were exclusively available to Spectrum video subscribers free On Demand (and without ads), after which new episodes are released every Monday until the finale. On Monday, September 21, 2020 at 8pm ET/PT, FOX debuted the network premiere of L.A.'S FINEST, beginning with the series opener. The first season includes these 13 episodes (with Spectrum premiere dates):

"Pilot" (Monday, May 13): When a young boy becomes the target of a powerful cartel, our team must race against the clock to keep him safe. But when Syd's personal quest for justice threatens the operation, she and McKenna must decide whom they really serve and protect.

"Defiance" (Monday, May 13): Our team must track down a budding serial killer who lures young women into isolated areas before killing them live on social media. Meanwhile, Syd's dangerous secret collides with McKenna's complicated past.

"Con-Air" (Monday, May 13): A body abruptly plummets onto a busy street, seemingly falling straight out of the sky, and our team is left to piece together the clues. Meanwhile, Syd and McKenna realize they need to trust each other if they want to escape the ghosts of their past.

"Deja Vu" (Monday, May 20): Time is up -- Syd and McKenna need to get Knox's fentanyl into police custody while leaving no trace of their own involvement. But can they pull it off when McKenna is distracted by Izzy's strange behavior and a ghost from Syd's past returns to haunt her?

"Farewell..." (Monday, May 20): Our LAPD team works to solve the mystery behind the brutal death of a trans woman, while Syd and McKenna are tangled up in their own personal complications. As the hunt for Knox intensifies, Syd is forced to face her traumatic and complicated past head-on when an old flame is transferred to the LAPD. Meanwhile, McKenna helps Izzy process the grief from her mother's fatal car accident.

"My Lovely" (Monday, May 27): With Dante back in her life, it's impossible for McKenna to keep hiding the truth about her mother's death from Syd. At the same time, Syd is in a mess of her own as Arlo plots against those she loves. As if this isn't enough on Syd and McKenna's plate, our team continues its hunt for answers in the murder of the trans woman and her fiance.

"Book of Secrets" (Monday, May 27): Syd and McKenna's personal hunt for Gabriel Knox ramps up as they let the Bens in on their search for the elusive Arlo. Meanwhile, a conflicted Syd must deal with a family crisis, while McKenna is left with a difficult choice between her past and her future.

"Dead Men Tell No Tales" (Monday, June 3): McKenna is forced to come clean about her past to her husband, and both she and Syd attempt to convince him to bend the rule of law to save a life. In the meantime, our team find themselves trailing a group of thieves who managed to steal millions of dollars' worth of untraceable diamonds.

"Dangerous Minds" (Monday, June 3): It's busy for our team of detectives as they continue to investigate the case of the missing diamonds, and the task force executes a major drug bust. With the threat of Knox looming, both Syd and McKenna must confront some of their deepest secrets yet.

"Enemy of the State" (Monday, June 10): As their pasts continue to crash into the present, Syd and McKenna discover that an unknown player has been manipulating them all along. Meanwhile, the search for the missing diamonds continues, just as McKenna is faced with an impossible choice: her brother or her future.

"Thief" (Monday, June 10): After a stunning discovery, Syd and McKenna debate who they can trust moving forward while also investigating a death that took place at a scenic Los Angeles park.

"Armageddon" (Monday, June 17): As Syd and McKenna finally close in on Gabriel Knox, a shocking revelation makes their fight more personal than ever before.

"Bad Girls" (Monday, June 17): Syd, McKenna and the team band together as they race against the clock to save one of their own, finally coming face-to-face with their greatest enemy.
