Plot Synopsis
Taking place during a time between the STAR WARS movies EPISODE II: ATTACK OF THE CLONES and EPISODE III: REVENGE OF THE SITH, this three-part series of half-hour animated specials follows Darth Sidious (aka Chancellor Palpatine) and his henchmen, Count Dooku and General Grievous, as they prepare a new weapon for the Clone Wars, while Yoda and the other Jedi respond to the disturbance in the Force and continue their battle with the Dark Side. In the first installment, "The Phantom Clone," the Dark Side reveals Jek-14 (aka The Phantom Clone), the Galaxy's most powerful new weapon, who, according to writer Michael Price in a Club Jade interview, was "created like the other Jango Fett clones by Lama Su on Kamino -- but he's been infused with the Force Powers of a Jedi Knight or Sith Lord." Plus, these specials explore the dual life of Chancellor Palpatine, who tirelessly hides his real identity as Darth Sidious, the most evil man in the Galaxy, from his good friends, Yoda, Obi-Wan and Anakin, who will first appear in Episode II of this program. Cartoon Network aired the U.S. premiere of LEGO STARS WARS: THE YODA CHRONICLES on Wednesday, May 29, 2013 at 8pm ET, immediately following encore presentations of two standalone specials that were also written by Michael Price: LEGO STAR WARS: THE EMPIRE STRIKES OUT (7pm) AND LEGO STAR WARS: PADAWAN MENACE (7:30pm). Episodes II and III of this three-episode series of quarterly specials were released later in 2013 on Cartoon Network in the United States: MENACE OF THE SITH (September 4) and ATTACK OF THE JEDI (November 27).
