Plot Synopsis

Based on the series of theatrical films of the same name, LETHAL WEAPON is a one-hour drama series that follows classic cop duo Riggs and Murtaugh, who work a crime-ridden beat in modern-day Los Angeles. Grief-stricken after the loss of his young wife and unborn child, ex-Navy SEAL-turned-detective Martin Riggs moves to California to start over at the LAPD. He's paired up with Roger Murtaugh, who's just coming back to the job after a near-fatal heart attack. Riggs' penchant for diving headfirst into the line of fire immediately clashes with Murtaugh's prudent, by-the-book technique. When Captain Brooks Avery assigns them their first case together, Riggs drags Murtaugh into a high-speed chase culminating inside the Long Beach Grand Prix and a seaport shootout with drug dealers -- and despite his protests, the older cop feels more alive than he has in years. Meanwhile, Riggs gets a glimpse of why Murtaugh is so determined to get home safely at the end of each day -- he's got a wife, Trish; teenagers Roger, Jr. and Riana; and a newborn baby. Riggs' life-on-the-edge attitude makes him a priority case for the department's psychologist, Dr. Maureen 'Mo' Cahill. Rounding out the precinct is Scorsese, a pathologist with the LAPD who got his nickname after a stint in film school, which no one will let him forget. By the time their first investigation ends, Riggs realizes he may have found something worth living for -- a partner and friend, Murtaugh. And even Murtaugh figures this arrangement might just work out after all. Season 2 of LETHAL WEAPON premiered on Tuesday, September 26, 2017 at 8pm ET/PT on FOX. In the season opener, "El Gringo Loco," Murtaugh follows Riggs down to Mexico, where he plans to avenge his wife's death and finish off Tito Flores (guest star Danny Mora) once and for all. Once back in the States, they have a few people to answer to during the ongoing investigation around Flores, including Murtaugh's family. Meanwhile, Avery is questioned by Internal Affairs about the integrity of his department. Guest Cast: Eric Ladin as Gordon Barnes, Katie Walder as Denise Barnes, Manuel Uriza as Raul Mendez, Beth Littleford as Internal Affairs Agent, Monty Jenkins as George Sharperson, Danny Mora as Tito Flores. Season 3 of LETHAL WEAPON premiered on Tuesday, September 25, 2018 at 9pm ET/PT on FOX. The third season introduced Seann William Scott as Det. Wesley Cole, a former international CIA operative who has been everywhere and seen everything. Cole returns home to Los Angeles and finds himself navigating a new partnership with Murtaugh, as he adjusts to life in the City of Angels. Meanwhile, Avery continues his campaign for city council. New recurring guest stars for the third season include: Maggie Lawson as Natalie Flynn, an emergency room surgeon and Cole's ex-girlfriend; and Mykelti Williamson as Tom Barnes, Cole's CIA recruiter.
On Tuesday, February 26, 2019 at 8pm ET/PT, FOX premiered "The Spy Who Loved Me," the Season 3 finale of LETHAL WEAPON. Meanwhile, Cole works a case that puts Natalie's fiance, Andrew, into the crosshairs right before their wedding day. Guest cast: Mykelti Williamson as Barnes.
