Plot Synopsis

In January 2008 the History Channel presented a post-apocalyptic special, "Life After People," that drew the network's single largest audience ever -- 5.4 million total viewers. Now, "Life After People" is a 10-episode series that answers the same question: What would happen to Earth if humans were to suddenly disappear? This series presents hypothetical scenarios by combining special effects with interviews, opinions and advice from top experts in engineering, botany, biology, geology, and archeology. Plus, the show provides additional evidence for these scenarios by investigating modern-day locations on Earth that were abandoned by man many years ago. Find out what might happen to human bodies, domesticated animals and sprawling cities in a post-human future.
