Plot Synopsis

Trained chef and actor David Burtka is throwing a rooftop birthday bash for his best friend, actor James Carpinello, and inviting some A-list guests including James' wife, actress Amy Acker; actress Rachael Harris; and TV host Kelly Ripa. With help in the kitchen from his adorable twins, Gideon and Harper, he prepares a menu of Tangerine Chicken Under a Brick, Balsamic Grilled Asparagus, Mint Pesto Pasta and Chocolate Chunk Hazelnut Cookie Bars, all to be washed down with Fresh Blueberry Fizz cocktails. Plus, David's husband, actor Neil Patrick Harris, makes a surprise trip home for the big event. Food Network aired the pilot of LIFE'S A PARTY on Sunday, September 18, 2016 at Noon ET/PT, but the cable channel had no other episodes on its schedule at that time.
