Plot Synopsis
As part of the witness protection program, ex-gangster Frank Tagliano moves to Lillehammer, assuming his new identity as Giovanni Henriksen, but he's unable to fully leave behind his past life. Frank becomes Norwegian citizen Giovanni Henriksen, falls for his language teacher, Sigrid, and opens a nightclub that's a big hit, drawing unwanted attention from the police and a biker gang. Once his nightclub starts generating enough revenue, Frank joins a lucrative real-estate deal, but his plans are thwarted by the police, who believe he's a terrorist. After Frank pulls his money out of the deal when it begins to sour, the police chief stumbles on a clue about his identity and his enemies get an unexpected lead on his location. And even as Frank's life continues to improve -- he buys a new penthouse and Sigrid moves in with him -- he beefs up security when he learns he's in jeopardy, as the police and Mafia pursue him. Netflix released all eight episodes of LILYHAMMER's second season on Friday, December 13, 2013 at 12:01am ET. In Season 2, Frank enjoys his status as crime kingpin, nightclub owner, and father of twins. But being a dad is harder than he thought, and his snowbound gangster's paradise attracts unwanted attention from international rivals.

Netflix launched Season 3 of LILYHAMMER on Friday, November 21, 2014 at 12:01am PT (late night Thursday). In the eight-episode third season, Roar travels to Brazil to meet his Internet bride from a Rio favela. Blinded by love, he finds himself tangled up with the law, and it's up to Frank and Torgeir to make things right. Assisted by the Norwegian Foreign Ministry, the collaboration between Frank and the foreign minister is anything but smooth. And as if Frank doesn't have enough challenges with his unruly bunch, a ghost resurfaces from the past -- an American "family friend" who sees vast opportunities in Lillehammer for a man of his talents.
