Plot Synopsis

Host and executive producer RuPaul Charles welcomes four teams to face off in the original fast-paced word-twisting game show where the correct words could be worth thousands, but only one team takes home the extra $50,000 jackpot prize. Teams of two face off in fast-paced puzzle rounds to guess letters that reveal seemingly simple words. At the end of each one-hour episode, the two winning teams make it through to a final showdown where one team walks away with the additional big cash prize.

On Sunday, December 24, 2023 from 8-9pm ET/PT, CBS premiered "LINGO for the Holidays," a LINGO holiday special. In a festive twist, RuPaul dons his holiday best to host LINGO for the holidays, where contestants compete in a winter wonderland filled with holiday-inspired superlingos and thrilling gameplay. In this special themed episode, good buddies battle it out against neighbors, and longtime friends face off against a father and son as the competition heats up, spreading the joy and excitement of the holiday season.

Season 2 of LINGO debuted on Friday, May 24, 2024 on CBS with back-to-back episodes from 8-10pm ET/PT. Host RuPaul Charles returns to the game show, where teams of two face off in fast-paced puzzle rounds to guess letters that reveal seemingly simple words. In Season 2, the winner of the first episode goes on to compete in the next episode, allowing for longer winning streaks and even bigger cash prizes. In the season opener (8pm), a brand-new season of LINGO gets underway with math teachers taking on doctors followed by friends facing off against a newly married couple. Then, in the night's second episode (9pm), math teachers Ashley and Jessica are back to defend their title as they face in-laws in a hard-fought battle, while married Midwesterners go head-to-head against police buddies from Florida to see who will take home the cash and advance to the next episode.
