Plot Synopsis

Toby Logan is a paramedic who is also a telepath. When he and his partner, Oz, respond to an accident or are called to a crime scene, Toby uses his psychic abilities to help the person in need of medical care or to uncover the truth. When off-duty, Toby tries to pick up the pieces of his personal life and repair his relationship with Olivia, his ex-girlfriend, even as he investigates crimes and accidents he sees in his visions.

After ending its Season 1 run on NBC in summer 2009, THE LISTENER continued for three more seasons in Canada even though it did not air in the United States. On Tuesday, April 1, 2014 at 10pm ET/PT, ION Television aired the U.S. premiere of Season 2, showing back-to-back episodes. In the Season 2 opener, Toby helps a woman with amnesia regain her memory, which includes some unsavory corporate behaviors. But his actions draw the attention and suspicions of Sgt. Michelle McCluskey at the Integrated Investigative Bureau (IIB). ION will continue to broadcast U.S. premieres of episodes that already aired in Canada, because the network became the exclusive U.S. channel for THE LISTENER after the network signed on to coproduce a 13-episode fifth season earlier in the year.
