Plot Synopsis

LIVE FROM LINCOLN CENTER celebrates performances by the world's finest artists on Lincoln Center's stages, showcasing the finest in music, theater and dance. This series returned for its 39th season on Friday, January 10, 2014 at 9pm ET/PT on PBS (check local listings) with a season opener that celebrated Richard Tucker's centennial with star-studded operatic performances at this year's gala and a salute to this year's award winner, Isabel Leonard. For Fall 2016, LIVE FROM LINCOLN CENTER debuted the first of five new episodes on September 9. The new programs showcased the best of music and dance on PBS, headlined by violinist Joshua Bell, pianist Lang Lang, the Alvin Ailey American Dance Theater, The Chamber Music Society of Lincoln Center, and the New York Philharmonic. On Friday, April 20, 2018 at 9pm (check local listings), PBS debuted "Sutton Foster in Concert," the Season 43 premiere. Two-time Tony winner Sutton Foster brings her irresistible talent and effusive charm to the intimate Appel Room for a special night with a special guest, two-time Tony nominee Jonathan Groff .

The 44th season of LIVE FROM LINCOLN CENTER premiered on Friday, February 8, 2019 at 9pm on PBS (check local listings). The season opener, "Pipeline," introduces Nya, an inner-city teacher desperate to save her son, in Dominique Morisseau's new play. When her son gets in trouble at school, Nya must confront his rage and her choices, and try to reach him before he gets pulled away forever.
