Plot Synopsis

LONG ISLAND MEDIUM: THERE IN SPIRIT is a one-hour docuseries that follows Theresa Caputo during the COVID-19 pandemic, as she completes a combination of socially distant and virtual readings. Theresa is able to remain in contact with those who need her hopeful messages the most, particularly with so much unexpected loss due to the pandemic. Theresa has also experienced a few adjustments of her own: her once empty nest is full again with her own family back home -- including all their dogs! As they adjust to a new normal, Theresa endeavors to read people who need her now more than ever. And, while she can't give her usual trademark hugs, she does provide messages and inspiration that can help change their lives and bring them peace. Some of the most heartfelt readings delivered this season are to three sisters and their mother who lost their father to COVID-19, to a skeptic who is turned believer by her grandfather's favorite plaid shirt, and an international surprise reading over video chat. This season also features special celebrity readings from top stars including Rosario Dawson, Meghan Trainor, Carmen Electra, Garcelle Beauvais, Howie Dorough, Whitney Thore, Darcey and Stacey Silva, and more. On Friday, February 5, 2021, discovery+ released the first three episodes:

"Meghan; Marlee; Darcee & Stacey": Theresa must learn to adjust how she channels Spirit in the face of a pandemic, and she brings comfort to a family devastated by COVID-19. Then, singer Meghan Trainor, actress Marlee Matlin, and 90 DAY FIANCE stars Darcey and Stacey also get readings.

"Carmen Electra": Theresa does her first virtual surprise and channels a man whose sudden death changed many lives. Theresa's trip to a bookstore is life-changing for one woman. Later, Theresa reads actress Carmen Electra, who is shockingly visited by a famous friend.

"Tiffany Haddish; Rosario Dawson": Theresa does an in-person reading for the first time since the pandemic began. A family is connected with the father who died in a skiing accident. Comedienne Tiffany Haddish reunites with her dad, and actress Rosario Dawson is visited by several souls.
