Plot Synopsis

Using archaeology, forensic anthropology, dramatic recreations and forensic investigation, this four-part documentary series reconstructs famous faces from four ancient skulls from the Holy Land. Travelling across the globe, archaeologists and scholars separate fact from myth, while a team of forensic anthropologists and artists put flesh on bone, using both traditional and state-of-the-art methods of facial reconstruction. Each 60-minute episode features a different person, including: a 3,000-year-old female skull, which gives the forensic team the chance to reconstruct the face of a Philistine lady; a tiny infant in a clay jar, whose discovery leads the team to explore humanity's history of sacrifice, and put a face to the mysterious child; 'The Warrior,' who was laid to rest in a remote desert cave more than 6,000 years ago; and a skeleton found in Galilee, which allows he forensic team prepares to unveil the 2,000-year-old man's face. Nat Geo aired the U.S. premiere of this series on Monday, November 25, 2013 at 9pm ET/PT.
