Plot Synopsis

In the year 2025, women worldwide have mysteriously stopped bearing children, and Earth is on the brink of impending extinction. When American scientist Dr. Alison Lennon and her team remarkably fertilize 100 embryos, the Director of the U.S. Fertility Commission, Darius Hayes, takes government control of the lab and informs United States President Thomas Westwood of the monumental scientific breakthrough. To determine which women will carry the prized embryos to term, Chief of Staff Vanessa Keller convinces the President to hold a national lottery and a battle over the control of the 100 embryos begins, as scientists, politicians, and criminals try to control the future in the face of a global fertility crisis. Kyle Walker finds himself in the middle of the battle, because he is the proud father of Elvis, one of six children born in the past five years. Kyle has only one wish in life -- to raise his son without government interference -- but he soon learns people are no longer free to do as they please. While Kyle tries to protect his son, Alison and her partner in crime, assistant scientist James Lynch, continue their quest to find a cure for worldwide infertility, and that leads them to Elvis, whose blood exhibits strange anomalies that provide the duo clues about the crisis. As scientists try to develop cures and diplomats are kidnapped, the nation is uplifted by the 100 embryos, and the U.S. government prepares to open the testing centers, leading to a worldwide backlash. The lottery process continues, as President Westwood and the First Lady, Gabrielle, announce the 200 lottery finalists and prepare for the opening-night reception. Even though the First Lady supports her husband's political ambitions -- and the boost the lottery can have for his dipping approval ratings at home and diminished power worldwide -- she also desperately wants to have a child of her own.
