Plot Synopsis
LOVE, DEATH & ROBOTS is a quarter-hour animated anthology series featuring NSFW stories presented by Tim Miller and David Fincher. The full roster of stories covers a variety of adult topics including racism, government, war, free will, and human nature. The anthology collection spans the science fiction, fantasy, horror and comedy genres and each short has a unique animation style: from traditional 2D to photo-real 3D CGI. The creators were assembled for a global calling for best in class animators from all over the world including artists from France, Korea, Hungary, Canada and the US among others. The series draws inspiration from the eclectic and provocative comic book material from the 1970s that influenced both Miller's and Fincher's formative interests in storytelling. Netflix premiered LOVE, DEATH & ROBOTS on Friday, March 15, 2019 at 3:01am ET/12:01am PT, releasing 18 episodes.
On Friday, May 14, 2021, Netflix released eight new episodes of LOVE, DEATH & ROBOTS, featuring a second volume of provocative tales -- from wild adventures on far-flung planets to unsettling encounters close to home.
Volume 3 of LOVE, DEATH & ROBOTS dropped on Friday, May 20, 2022, as Netflix released all nine new episodes, featuring uncanny worlds, strange creatures and twisted tales. In the season opener, "Three Robots: Exit Strategies," three robots walk into the post-apocalypse...and take a whirlwind tour of humankind's last attempts to save itself.
