Plot Synopsis

LOVE YURTS is a half-hour reality series that follows couples, families and singles living in Hawaii who dream of building a chic yurt retreat. In each episode, the prospective buyer works with a builder to customize a yurt bungalow, one of the funky and ready-to-pop domiciles that are riding the housing market's newest wave of living green. On Thursday, December 1, 2016 from 10-11pm ET/PT, DIY Network premiered back-to-back new episodes. In the season opener (10pm), "The Big Kahuna Yurt," yurt builders Nathan and Jenny Toler are headed deep into the jungles of Maui, Hawaii, to build their biggest yurt yet. It's a giant two-story, 30-foot, hydro-powered yurt for their off-the-grid clients Christina and Boe. Getting materials to the remote build site proves to be a logistical nightmare, not to mention the monstrous yurt is being built on a steep hillside. And if things couldn't get worse, a tropical storm threatens to ruin everything. Watch what happens when the storm clouds pass and the clients return for an awe-inspiring reveal. Then, in the night's second new episode (10:30pm), "Our First Yirt," newlyweds Cheyenne and Austin call on yurt builders Nathan and Jenny Toler to build their first place, a paniolo-inspired 16-foot yurt with a bedroom, bathroom and outdoor dining space on a picturesque piece of family farmland in Waimanalo, Oahu. Unique to this build are the specially engineered window frames Nathan must design to keep out Vog, or volcanic air pollution, that Austin is severely allergic to.
Season 2 of LOVE YURTS premiered on Thursday, June 21, 2018 from 9-10pm ET/PT, as DIY Network debuted back-to-back new episodes:

"Tree Lovin' Yurts" (9pm): Nathan and Jenny are challenged with building a completely unique, tree-themed yurt. The Beschens decide on a large, 30-foot yurt and request other yurt firsts such as a private, walled-off master bedroom and the largest dormer they've ever built!

"Yurt in Paradise" (9:30pm): Nathan and Jenny use a rare wood only found in Hawaii to build a yurt on a farm for clients determined to live completely of the grid. Their clients' goal is to never have to go to the grocery store by living solely off their farm and catching the occasional fish.
