Plot Synopsis
MAFIA'S GREATEST HITS is a one-hour series that chronicles the tales of true crime about the Mafia, its related underworld, and the FBI agents who tried to stop them. Each 60-minute episode features a different person associated with gangs, including: mobster Charles 'Lucky' Luciano, who made a deal with the U.S. government during World War II; FBI agent Joseph Pistone, who went under cover to infiltrate the world of organized crime as Donnie Brasco; mobster Sam Giancana, who was associated with the Kennedys, Frank Sinatra and the CIA; Joe Colombo, who took on the FBI in the '70s with his Italian-American Civil Rights League campaigning against harassment; mobster John Gotti, who became the boss of the Gambino family by ordering the death of the group's former head; enforcer Tony 'The Ant' Spilotro, who left dozens of bodies in his wake as he protected the Chicago Outfit's interests in Vegas casinos; mobster Vito Genovese, who dealt with disloyalty ruthlessly and rose through the Mafia ranks; criminal Carmine Galante, who took the Mob into the world of heroin -- even when he was locked up in jail; financier Allen Dorfman, who used union pension funds to bankroll the Mafia; informant Joe Valachi, who was the first Mafia member to break the Mob's code of silence and turn public informer; Roy DeMeo and his crew, who were suspected of killing dozens of people and dismembering their bodies; and many more criminals, informants, and members of law enforcement. Two years after initially premiering on UK's Yesterday cable channel, AHC: American Heroes Channel aired the U.S premiere of this series on Saturday, May 31, 2014 at 10pm ET/PT.
