Plot Synopsis

Using the unfiltered internal monologues of a young couple, Dana and Peter, who are embarking on a new relationship with each other, this romantic comedy series exposes the differences between men and women, their secret thoughts and their often contradictory actions. Southern girl Dana is new to the Big Apple and she's ready to make it big in the NYC publishing world. On the outside, she is full of ambition, passion, and confidence. Inside her head, she doubts her outfit, hates her ankles, and is sure she's said and done exactly the wrong thing in every situation. When she arrives in Manhattan, she temporarily stays with Amy and her husband, David. Amy is a former sorority sister who plays guitar, teaches yoga out of her apartment and was trained to be a pastry chef at the Cordon Bleu, and she and David seem like the perfect couple. David sets up his brother, Peter, on a date with Dana. On their first date, Dana runs out of the restaurant crying after five minutes, and Peter's inner thoughts reveal that he thinks he's charming, suave, and completely fault-free during their first encounter. Despite their disastrous first attempt to get to know each other, their friends and family -- including Peter's young sister, Chloe -- encourage them to try again. And again. And again. All while this series reveals their thoughts during every step and milestone of their relationship.
