Plot Synopsis
Based on the famed explorer's adventures in Kublai Khan's court at the center of a brutal war in 13th century China, MARCO POLO is a one-hour series that reveals a tale of high politics, masterful manipulation and deadly warfare among clashing empires. After three years of crossing seas, deserts and the Silk Road, a young Marco finds himself a prisoner of Kublai, who is battling his warmonger brother for rule over Mongolia. As tensions grow between rulers, Marco begins a dangerous relationship with the Blue Princess, and later searches for the mastermind behind a murderous plot, the culprit behind the assassination attempt of Kublai, and a way to infiltrate the walled city of Xiangyang. And when Kublai takes a bold step to become emperor of the world, Marco's loyalty is put to the ultimate test.
