Plot Synopsis

This half-hour reality series follows DANCING WITH THE STARS' Derek Hough and Mark Ballas as these first-time house flippers and their team of experts transform an outdated Los Angeles-area home into one of the best homes on the block. From demolition to design, Hough and Ballas play an active role on the work site, helping to renovate and prep the home to sell in the L.A. real estate market. In the premiere episode, the duo knock down walls to create a gorgeous great room that combines the kitchen, family room and dining room. The rest of the series follows the guys' progress as they tackle the home's crumbling exterior and overgrown landscape, gut the master bathroom and update the bedrooms with new windows and floors. On Tuesday, April 28, 2015 from 11pm-Midnight ET/PT, HGTV premiered the first two episodes of MARK & DEREK'S EXCELLENT FLIP, followed by the final two installments one week later on Tuesday, May 5 from 11pm-Midnight ET/PT.
