Plot Synopsis

MARRIED BY MOM AND DAD is a one-hour reality series that follows four singles who have been unable to find love in the world of modern dating, and have now agreed to put their future into the hands of their parents. The moms and dads go through the process of meeting and vetting the potential future spouses and watch their kids meet their life partners for the first time. But the real work begins as the couples get to know what they like, dislike, and everything in between. The four singles searching for wedded bliss are: 30-year-old Mitch, a certified level II sommelier and full-time wine salesman from Los Angeles, who has had a hard time meeting the perfect girl in the L.A. dating scene; 34-year-old Marivic, a full-time nurse from Valley Cottage, NY, who has asked her traditional, Filipino parents to date on her behalf and choose the man that is right for her; 31-year-old John, who is ready to find his perfect match after having a god time casually dating in Denver, CO; and 33-year-old Christina, who recently moved to Charleston, SC, to start her own travel agency, but is having a hard time dating due to her long hours.

Season 2 of MARRIED BY MOM AND DAD premiered on Sunday, November 27, 2016 at 10pm ET/Pt on TLC. This season one man and three women who have not been lucky in love let their parents do the dating for them. But not every suitor is a contender in the parents' eyes - one person admits to breaking the rules when they tracked down and reached out to one of the singles via social media. For another suitor, her parents tag along to her first meeting with a potential spouse's parents, and they won't let her get a word in edgewise. One dad even takes a suitor to a gun range to intimidate him and find out if he's really ready for marriage. The singles include: Devin, a 26-year-old former NFL player from Tampa, FL, who hopes to put an end to his frequent string of one-night stands and finally settle down with a woman who loves him for him and not just for his money; Tahnee, a 30-year-old from Pleasonton, CA, who admits that dating is not her favorite thing, and that it has become more difficult the older she has gotten; Bethany, a 24-year-old 5th-grade teacher from Charlotte, NC, who is happy with her life and her career, but is eager to share these moments with someone; and Marissa, a 27-year-old from San Diego, CA, who admits that she has high expectations when it comes to relationships -- and that she's not afraid to let a guy know when he's not meeting her standards.
