Plot Synopsis

Each year, Destination America presents MEAT WEEK, an event that includes nightly specials, new episodes, and primetime marathons dedicated to cook-out traditions, BBQ, beef, and bacon. In 2013, the inaugural event was ignited by a 60-minute special, SMOKED, at 9pm ET on Monday, May 27, 2013, with Destination America smoldering all week, as the network aired marathons of UNITED STATES OF... (Tuesday), BBQ PITMASTERS: RE-IGNITED (Wednesday and Thursday), UNITED STATES OF BACON (Friday), and encores of BBQ specials (Saturday). On the final day, Sunday, June 2, BBQ PITMASTERS returned for Season 5 after the network marinated the new season with an all-day marathon of repeat episodes from previous seasons.

MEAT WEEK returned for a second year, as Destination America aired this annual event from Memorial Day 2014 (Monday, May 26) through Saturday, May 31, 2014. MEAT WEEK 2014 kicked off with an all-day marathon of BBQ PITMASTERS, followed by a series sneak peek of BBQ PIT WARS at 10pm ET/PT on Monday, May 26. Subsequent nights featured world premieres of these programs:
- HOLY SMOKERS, a one-hour special on Tuesday, May 27 at 8pm ET/PT;
- FOOD WARS: BBQ, a one-hour special on Wednesday, May 28 at 8pm ET/PT;
- the season premiere of BBQ PITMASTERS on Saturday, May 31 at 9pm ET/PT;
- the official series premiere of BBQ PIT WARS on Saturday, May 31 at 10pm ET/PT.
Plus, MEAT WEEK 2014 included an encore of the 2013 original special SMOKED on Thursday, May 29 at 8pm ET/PT and many other marathons and BBQ-themed programs
