Plot Synopsis

Each week, Jonah Ray and Kumail Nanjiani host 30 minutes of stand-up comedy, taped in the back of a comic book store in Los Angeles, where they have hosted one of the best stand-up shows in LA since 2010. In each half-hour episode of MELTDOWN WITH JONAH AND KUMAIL, Jonah and Kumail open with their own comedy -- discussing their worst jobs, describing their worst party fouls, or helping the audience find love -- and then they host four or five comedians, including: Steve Agee, David Koechner, Neal Brennan, and Moshe Kasher; Emily Heller, Eugene Mirman, Jon Daly, Nick Offerman, and T.J. Miller; Jared Logan, John Hodgman, Todd Glass, and Weird Al Yankovic; and others, such as James Adomian, Eric Andre, Maria Bamford, Doug Benson, Michael Ian Black, Adam Cayton-Holland, Jim Gaffigan, Garfunkel & Oates, Chris Hardwick, Pete Holmes, Rob Huebel & Paul Scheer, Kyle Kinane, Tom Lennon, Gabe Liedman & Jenny Slate, Marc Maron, Rory Scovel, Brody Stevens, Reggie Watts, Justin Willman, and Tom Wilson. THE MELTDOWN returned for its eight-episode second season at 12:30am ET/PT late night Tuesday, June 30, 2015 (early morning Wednesday, July 1) on Comedy Central. In the season opener, "The One with the Replacement Hosts," Andy Daly, Cameron Esposito and Hampton Yount perform, and Abbi Jacobson and Ilana Glazer temporarily take over hosting duties for Jonah Ray and Kumail Nanjiani. Season 2 also features performances by Matt Braunger, Fred Armisen, Nick Thune, Pete Holmes, Al Madrigal, Ron Funches, John Mulaney, Bridget Everett, Ken Marino, Hannibal Buress and many more comedy heavyweights and up-and-comers. Season 3 of THE MELTDOWN premiered on Tuesday, September 27, 2016 at Midnight ET/PT on Comedy Central. The eight-episode third season was filmed in front of a live audience at the Nerdist Showroom in the back of Meltdown Comics, Los Angeles' premiere comic book store.
