Plot Synopsis

based on Carlos Montero's book of the same name, THE MESS YOU LEAVE BEHIND is a one-hour drama series that focuses on Raquel, who prepares to start her new job as a literature teacher at a high school, but she is haunted by a suspicious death that occurred there weeks before... and begins fearing for her own life. Shortly after starting, her privacy is violated and she's being threatened, so Raquel attempts to command respect from her students. Then, a guilt-ridden Raquel must decide how to respond to the blackmail involving her upcoming exam. Raquel continues to unravel a dangerous web of lies as she tries to determine whether she can trust even those closest to her. Netflix released the entire first season of THE MESS YOU LEAVE BEHIND on Friday, December 11, 2020 at 3:01am ET/12:01am PT.
