Plot Synopsis

MESSI MEETS AMERICA is a six-part documentary that features exclusive behind-the-scenes access to Lionel Messi, the greatest soccer player of all time, as he makes his debut in Leagues Cup and Major League Soccer. After 20+ years of excellence between Barcelona and Paris Saint-Germain, and winning the FIFA World Cup Qatar 2022 with the Argentina national football team, Messi made a landmark decision by joining Major League Soccer and Inter Miami CF. From selling out record crowds across America at breakneck speed, to his incredible last-minute game-winning goal in his very first match, to moments with Messi and his Inter Miami CF teammates, the series chronicles Messi's immersion in America, the remarkable journey and transformation of Inter Miami CF, and most significantly, the impact he is currently having on soccer in North America as "Messi Mania" crisscrosses the continent. The first three episodes of MESSI MEETS AMERICA dropped on Wednesday, October 11, 2023 on Apple TV+. Two additional episodes debuted on Wednesday, November 1 and the finale premieres on Wednesday, December 6. Episodes include:

"The Messi Era" (Wednesday, October 11, 2023): Fanfare reaches a fever pitch as the legend arrives in Miami and makes his thrilling debut. David Beckham shares his vision for the club and MLS.

"The Messi Effect" (Wednesday, October 11, 2023): Former FC Barcelona player Jordi Alba joins the club -- just in time to face Orlando. Messi Mania sweeps Texas as Inter Miami CF battle FC Dallas.

"Making History" (Wednesday, October 11, 2023): The club fight their way to the Leagues Cup final. Messi's new teammates reflect on the icons' leadership.

"Road Trip" (Wednesday, November 1, 2023): Messi's exciting journey continues with his regular-season MLS debut against New York Red Bulls and a cross-country dash to face LAFC.

"Adversity" (Wednesday, November 1, 2023): Inter Miami CF push for the playoffs while battling a trio of Eastern Conference rivals -- and an injury to Lionel Messi.

"One Epic Summer" (Wednesday, December 6, 2023): The club fight for a playoff spot as they wrap an unexpected and extraordinary season with Messi.
