Plot Synopsis
This series recounts the battles, covert operations and soldiers that altered the face of World War II, focusing on three separate missions. Four episodes are dedicated to each of these three missions: "The Doolittle Raid" highlights a seemingly insignificant mission that was designed to boost American morale but had a vital effect on the war with Japan; "Germany's Last Ace" is a first-person account of Gunter Rall, the most decorated aviator in Hitler's Luftwaffe, as he describes the misguided Nazi strategy on the Eastern front; and "The Flying Tigers" showcases a series of bombing missions that prevented the fall of China.
