Plot Synopsis

MR. ROBINSON is a single-camera comedy series that centers on a journeyman musician, who plays in a funk band called Nasty Delicious. But with bills piling up, he gets a job as a substitute music teacher at a high school, where he teaches the kids everything from rock to the blues, while also maneuvering precocious kids, teacher politics, and the temptations of single moms. The school principal is a woman who believes that rules were made to be strictly upheld. She's none too fond of Craig's unorthodox teaching style, or his crush on the pretty English teacher. If he wants to keep his gig, get the girl and teach these kids the joys of music, he'll have to buckle down, shape up and funk out.
On Wednesday, August 19, 2015 from 9-10pm ET/PT, NBC premiered the season finale of MR. ROBINSON, showing back-to-back new episodes. In the night's first new episode (9pm), "Can't Buy Me Love," Craig and the teachers plan an auction to raise money after being told that he and Jimmy may lose their jobs due to budget cuts. But when Victoria's boyfriend asks her to move to New York, Craig puts everything into a last-ditch effort to win her over, and hopefully save his job in the process. Samir also hopes to use the auction for romantic purposes, and takes suggestions from Craig and Jimmy on how to get out of the friend zone with Ashleigh. Meanwhile, Halle and the other students come up with their own plan to raise money for their favorite class, but they'll first need help from a tyrannical Ben. Then, in the season finale (9:30pm), "School's Out for Summer," Craig is planning a Nasty Delicious summer tour, and the faculty is excited to come along for the fun. But when Earth, Wind and Fire (guest starring as themselves) shows up and invites Craig, and Craig alone, on a year-long tour, he must decide whether he's willing to ditch his brother, Ben, his friends and his students. Meanwhile, Samir sees Ashleigh in her other job as a stripper, and tries to even the score to make up for his guilty conscience.
