Plot Synopsis

Featuring interviews with the Milligan family, friends, doctors, and law enforcement, MONSTERS INSIDE: THE 24 FACES OF BILLY MILLIGAN is a four-episode documentary series that tells the story of Billy Milligan, an accused serial rapist in the late 1970s, who claimed multiple personalities controlled his behavior. In 1977, after Billy Milligan is accused of multiple rapes near Ohio State University, experts question if he has "multiple personality disorder." When Billy's troubled youth comes into focus via interviews with his siblings and childhood friends, at trial, his lawyers mount an unusual defense. As Billy's celebrity rises, a new doctor disagrees about his diagnosis and alters his treatment. Later, Billy takes his care into his own hands. Directed by Olivier Magaton and written by Megaton and Brice Lambert. All four episodes of the series dropped on Wednesday, September 22, 2021 on Netflix.
