Plot Synopsis

Ten experienced designers with a passion for cars compete in elimination challenges, as they create new, fully functional (though not street legal) concept vehicles while vying for the grand prize: $100,000 cash, a new 2014 Camaro Z28 and the opportunity to showcase his/her designs at major auto show exhibitions. Hosted by Brooke Burns, MOTOR CITY MASTERS puts competitors through several challenges that explore various aspects of design -- inside and out. In each one-hour episode, the contestants design and build concept cars based on a theme that showcases each competitor's unique personality, and their creations will judged on their creativity, execution and forward-thinking design, among other criteria. The field will narrow with each elimination challenge until only the top two designers remain. These two competitors then face off in front of Chevrolet's world-class car design experts, after which only one designer takes home the grand prize. Throughout the competition, designs are judged by Jean Jennings, president and editor in chief of "Automobile Magazine"; internationally renowned car designer Harald Belker; and a guest judge, including actress and producer Melissa Joan Hart, actor Jesse Metcalfe, Fall Out Boy bassist Pete Wentz, baseball great David Justice, former NASCAR driver Robby Gordon, celebrity dog trainer Tamar Geller, Mattel Hot Wheels VP of Design Felix Holst, model and surfer Malia Jones, master mechanic Trevor Mann and GM vice president of global design Edward T. Welburn Jr.
