Plot Synopsis

Based on the nine-book "Karl Alberg" series by L.R. Wright, MURDER IN A SMALL TOWN is a drama series that follows Karl Alberg, who moves to a quiet coastal town to soothe a psyche that has been battered by big-city police work. But this gentle paradise has more than its share of secrets, and Karl will need to call upon all the skills that made him a world-class detective in solving the murders that, even in this seemingly idyllic setting, continue to wash up on his shore. Local librarian Cassandra Lee becomes Alberg's muse, foil and romantic interest. In the 90-minute season opener, "The Suspect," when a longtime resident of the town ends up bludgeoned to death in his own home, Alberg must determine if another longtime resident is to blame. Meanwhile, Alberg meets Cassandra for a first date. James Cromwell guest stars as George Wilcox.
