Plot Synopsis

In this half-hour scripted comedy, Brooke and Chloe, two young women from vastly different backgrounds, live together while trying to find fame and fortune in Los Angeles. These reluctant roommates find themselves in a series of dilemmas causing them to temporarily put their differences aside to resolve the obstacles they face on their journey. Chloe, a high-strung and obsessive neat freak, is a rich Valley Girl, who wants to forge her own path and is currently taking temp jobs, shopping, and bickering with her roommate. Born and raised in Brooklyn, NY, and of Jamaican descent, Brooke moved to Los Angeles to pursue a screenwriting career, where she is constantly getting into it with her roommate and her boss and co-workers at the Underground Coffee Shop. As they struggle to make it in LA, they are joined by: Sloane Simmons, born and raised in South Central L.A., who has a part-time job at a fast-food joint, but mostly hangs out at the Underground where his childhood friend Future works and where he sees his crush, Brooke; Future Whitaker, also born and raised in South Central L.A., who preaches his philosophies about sticking it to the establishment, performs slam poetry, and actually happily works for The Man at the Underground; Rochelle Williams-Ivanov, a paralegal, who was born and raised in Chicago; Dmitri Ivanov, Rochelle's husband, who was born in Russia, moved to America with his family when he was four, became college sweethearts with Rochelle, and is now pursuing his dream of being a stay-at-home slacker husband; Carson Bailey, born and raised in Malibu, who is trying to land a few acting gigs while being a barista at the Underground, where he gets by on his good looks and his special brand of charm; and Phyllis Quinn, the manager of the Underground, who, based on the tall tales she tells, she seems to have been around for decades, while living in all sorts of places with a handful of ex-husbands.
