Plot Synopsis

MY SWEET RETREAT is a half-hour series that goes around America to find retreats that provide the ultimate escape from everyday life. Whether people are looking for a camp, chalet, cottage or cabin, they can find these summer houses, second homes, and vacation bungalows along the world's most scenic shorelines, riverbanks and mountainsides. Each 30-minute episode features three homes, including: a lakeside "fun palace" with a waterfall, rock climbing wall, waterslide, hot tub, trampoline and even a boathouse; a modernist mountain "escape" chalet that feels much farther away than it actually is; a secluded seacoast retreat that's just as likely to have dolphin visitors as people; a grand summer home with the world's first rotating bed and breakfast; a "family vacation" with one 35-member clan and their "compound" of four wildly different lakeside cabins; a pair of contrasting oceanfront stilt homes; a centuries-old island church that was "saved" and converted into a bed and breakfast just days before demolition; a lakeside paradise where a couple built their rustic utopian cabin on an old community garbage dump; a woodsy vacation home that's equal parts surfer's retreat and tree hugger's nirvana in the Pacific Northwest; and more.
