Plot Synopsis

This reality series, pronounced "hashtag my k-pop," follows the lives of nine K-Pop fans who converge on KCON2013, the largest K-pop fan convention in North America, which was held from August 24-25, 2013 at the LA Memorial Sports Arena in Los Angeles. Thousands of fans from across the United States submitted video applications, but Mnet America selected these nine people: Stephen, a 47-year-old lawyer from Nashville, TN; Arianna, a 16-year-old, who runs her own YouTube Channel, which is known for its K-Pop reaction vids; Heather, a 23-year-old from Phoenix, who is headed to South Korea for a dance competition; Jenna, the 22-year-old singer from Jacksonville, who is the leader of Coco Avenue, a K-Pop cover group; Sarah, a 26-year-old from Lancaster, PA, who suffers from cramp fasciculation syndrome; JRE, a 22-year old from Miami, the first person chosen to be a cast member; Patrick, a 21-year-old vlogger from Houston, who was the fifth person selected; and Riley & Allyson, sisters from Pomona, CA, who were the final cast members chosen after Mnet America decided to expand the cast from six to eight.
