Plot Synopsis
Each year since 1981, THE NASCAR AWARDS have recognized champions from NASCAR, as well as conferring additional annual honors. The inaugural event was held in New York City and remained in the Big Apple until it relocated to Las Vegas in 2009 (at The Wynn) and then called Nashville its home for the first time in 2019. The event was virtual in 2020 because of COVID-19, returning to Music City Center in Nashville the following year. Also in 2021, the event began to recognize winners in all three circuits at this ceremony instead of just the NASCAR Cup Series, with separate awards banquets for the other two series: Xfinity Series and Craftsman Truck Series. THE NASCAR AWARDS was moved to Charlotte for 2024.
The 2022 NASCAR AWARDS were presented as part of NASCAR Champion's Week on Saturday, December 3 at 8pm/5pm ET exclusively on Peacock. NBC Sports' Marty Snider and Kim Coon and FOX Sports' Kaitlyn Vincie host the commercial-free program from the Music City Center in Nashville to celebrates NASCAR's 2022 Series champions: Joey Logano (Cup Series), Ty Gibbs (Xfinity Series) and Zane Smith (Truck Series).
The 2023 NASCAR AWARDS were held on Thursday, November 30 at the Music City Center to formally honor the 2023 champions from all three NASCAR national series: NASCAR Cup Series, Xfinity Series and Craftsman Truck Series. MRN and SiriusXM NASCAR Radio (Channel 90) carried the celebration at 7pm ET/4pm PT. Peacock broadcast the show on Sunday, December 3, at 7pm ET/4pm PT.
