Plot Synopsis

Created by AMERICAN PICKERS' Mike Wolfe, NASHVILLE FLIPPED is a half-hour reality series that follows house flipper Troy Dean Shafer as he renovates homes in historic communities throughout Nashville, Tennessee. Reviving historic homes is as important to Troy as is accomplishing a financially sound flip. As with many of the old homes he acquires, there are always unforeseen challenges, because he never really knows what he has until he begins pulling back the years of neglect. Facing all those challenges and more, Troy calls upon a designer -- his friend Alex Cirimelli in the pilot and Julie Couch in the series -- to help rehab these houses. On Thursday, March 19, 2015 at 11pm ET/PT, HGTV premiered the pilot of NASHVILLE FLIPPED, and more than a year later DIY Network broadcast the official series premiere on Wednesday, April 13, 2016 from 10-11pm ET/PT, showing back-to-back new episodes. In the pilot, Troy and Alex renovate a 1932 Craftsman style bungalow at 331 Richardson Ave in East Nashville, which he purchased for $105,000 in October 2014 and sold for $250,000 three months later. Then, in the series opener, "Folk Victorian Near Nashville," Troy purchases a 1904 Victorian-style home in Springfield, TN, a small town just outside of Nashville. Troy and his crew waste no time on the demo -- the team breaks down walls, tears out the ceilings and alters the floorplan to maximize the 1,300-square foot space. The team even finds century-old wallpaper hidden by a previous renovation. Once Troy's team completes the full demo, Julie arrives to help Troy restore the home's early 20th century design, including the cathedral ceiling and an oak mantle in the living room. The revived home, which features new landscaping, fresh siding in a new color, and special touches such as vintage chandeliers and stained glass windows rejuvenates the old house into a beautiful "new" historic home. On Wednesday, June 7, 2017 from 9-10pm ET/PT, DIY Network premiered the second season of NASHVILLE FLIPPED, showing back-to-back new episodes. In the season opener (9pm), "A Crooked Craftsman," Troy Dean Shafer takes on a 1935 Craftsman home and finds himself in a precarious position when he realizes the whole front of the house is poised to collapse due to a previous shoddy renovation. His budget takes a hit to restore this house to its former glory, but this risk could pay off in Music City. Then, in the night's second new episode (9:30pm), "Flippin' on the Farm," Troy Dean Shafer restores a house that's stood on a farm in Springfield for over 100 years. He finds himself underground in order to make sure it stands another century, but hopefully he's not under water in the end.

DIY Network premiered the Season 2 finale of NASHVILLE FLIPPED on Wednesday, July 5, 2017 at 9pm ET/PT. In the season ender, "A Cozy Cottage," Troy Dean Shafer restores a quaint home from the 1920s just south of downtown Nashville. He adds a bit of custom flair to this historic home by building a vaulted master bedroom and bath before adding custom carpentry for added function.
