Plot Synopsis

Each year since 2008, Logo's NEWNOWNEXT AWARDS have celebrated who and what are on the verge of a pop culture explosion in film, television, fashion and music. Viewers vote online for their favorite celebrities in categories like: Next Mega Star; Brink-of-Fame - Music Artist; Most Addictive Reality Star; Cause You're Hot; Beyond Style Award; Best New Indulgence; Next Must-See Movie; TV You Betta Watch; and Superfan Site Award. Taped in front of a live studio audience at the The Fonda Theater in Hollywood, CA, on Saturday, April 13, 2013, the 6th Annual awards program was hosted by Aisha Tyler, with musical performances by Ke$ha, Tegan + Sara, and New Politics. Presenters included Tamar Braxton, Ciara, Tabatha Coffey, Perez Hilton, Ross Mathews, Heather McDonald, Adam Pally, Pauley Perrette, Naya Rivera, Adam Rodriguez, RuPaul, Carrie Preston, Jake Shears, Chad Michaels and Barry Sloane. Plus, Selena Gomez received the Triple Play Award for achievements in television, film and music, while Fergie accepted the Always Next, Forever Now Award and Kylie Minogue was honored with the Dance Floor Hero Award. Logo aired the NEWNOWNEXT AWARDS 2013 as a 90-minute special on Monday, April 15, 2013 at 10pm ET/PT. The NEWNOWNEXT AWARDS 2014 debuted on Logo on Sunday, December 7, 2014 at 8pm ET/PT, as a 65-minute taped special hosted by Darren Criss. This year's event took place five days earlier -- on Tuesday, December 2, 2014 -- at the Kimpton Surfcomber Hotel in Miami Beach, FL, with performances by Jessie J ("Burnin' Up"); Kristin Chenoweth ("Maybe This Time" & "Cabaret"); Betty Who accompanied by synchronized swimmers from the Aqualillies; and Nicole Byer, who performed impromptu "auditions" for OITNB, HTGAWM, and AHS: FREAK SHOW.

Newly imagined for 2016 -- after the event skipped a year and returned with a new name -- the NEWNOWNEXT HONORS now features pop culture experts sharing their picks for who and what people will be talking about all this year.
