Plot Synopsis

NEWSREADERS -- a parody of newsmagazines like 60 MINUTES, 20/20 and DATELINE NBC -- takes on topical news stories, such as its investigative report 'documenting' how a series of porn videos helped van sales surge in America, saving the Detroit auto industry. Plus, a group of correspondents report from the field, while each episode ends with a few thoughts from Skip Reming. Guest stars for Season 1 included: Katie Aselton, Ed Begley Jr., Lizzy Caplan, Garret Dillahunt, Dave Foley, Neil Flynn, Rachael Harris, Dennis Hayesbert, Tom Lennon, Joey McIntyre, Brian Posehn, Mary Lynn Rajskub, Dan Rather, Brandon Routh, and Jane Seymour. Season 2 premiered on Thursday, October 23, 2014 at 11:59pm ET/PT on Adult Swim, with a new host, Reagan Biscayne, who is even dumber than Louis La Fonda, the man he replaces as the show's anchor. In the season opener, "F-Dancing, Are You Decent?," Amir LaRussa investigates a new dance craze that has school officials threatening to cancel the prom in a story that features guest star David Hasselhoff as a judge in the fictional TV series F--K DANCING WITH THE STARS. Additional guest stars in Season 2 include: Scott Adsit, Malin Akerman, Billy Ray Cyrus, Jenna Fischer, Rob Huebel, Tom Lennon, Danny Pudi, Rob Riggle, Martin Starr, and James Urbaniak.
On Friday, February 13, 2015 at 11:59pm ET/PT, adult swim premiered the Season 2 finale of NEWSREADERS, "Creepiest Man Alive; Bomb Sniffing Dogs."
