Plot Synopsis

90 DAY FIANCE is a one-hour reality series that follows four couples, each with the bride-to-be visiting the United States on a 90-day fiance visa, as the pairs decide whether or not to get married before their K-1 visa expires and the women must return home. In addition to living together for the first time, these couples must overcome language barriers, culture shock, and the stigma of being thought of as a mail-order bride. Taking the life-altering chance on a cross-border romance, these foreign brides-to-be and their potential husbands discover if their happily ever after is meant to be. The couples in Season 1 were: Alan (from Los Angeles, CA) and Kirlyam (from Brazil), who met while he was on a religious mission in Brazil and have seen each other only a few times since; Louis (from Indianapolis, IL) & Aya (from Philippines), who met online, becoming engaged when Louis proposed on a 7-day trip to the Philippines for their first face-to-face meeting; Mike (from Cleveland, OH) & Aziza (from Russia), who met on an international language learning website, where Mike wanted to learn Russian for an upcoming trip while Aziza wanted to learn English; and Russ (from Owasso, OK) & Paola (from Colombia), who met when Russ moved to Colombia for work and has returned back home with his fiance, as she lives in his parents' house while they decide their future. Plus, TLC.com featured an additional couple: Len (from Scottsdale, AZ) & Alina (from Ukraine), who met when Len traveled to the Ukraine and have since communicated regularly online. 90 DAY FIANCE returned for its 10-episode second season on Sunday, October 19, 2014 at 9pm ET/PT on TLC. In Season 2, six new couples decide to take a chance on love and bring their spouses-to-be stateside by using a special K-1 visa that requires them to get married at the end of only 90 days...or else return to their home countries. The couples featured in Season 2 are: Brett (Snohomish, WA) & Daya (from the Philippines), who met online while Brett was searching for a Filipino woman with strong family values; Chelsea (from Galesburg, IL) & Yamir (from Managua, Nicaragua), who met during a concert of his Nicaraguan boyband, Myla Vox; Danielle (Norwalk, OH) & Mohamed (from Tunis, Tunisia), who met in an international chatroom and dated online before Danielle made the leap of faith to meet Mohamed in person; Danny (Norristown, PA) & Amy (from Cape Town, South Africa), who were both studying abroad at a bible college in Sydney, Australia; Jason (Spring Hills, FL) & Cassia (from Curitiba, Brazil), who met when Jason travelled to Brazil, where he was immediately awestruck by Cassia; and Justin (San Jose, CA) & Evelin (from Santiago de Cali, Columbia) who met at a rugby world game match in Santiago de Cali, Columbia. Season 3 of 90-DAY FIANCE premiered on Sunday, October 11, 2015 at 10pm ET/PT on TLC. The 10-episode third season features these couples: Fernando (age 39; Miami, Florida) and Carolina (age 22; from Colombia), who met at a nightclub in Colombia while both on dates with their now-exes; Josh (22; Rexburg, Idaho) and Aleksandra (21; from Russia), who met in the Czech Republic while Josh was there on a Mormon mission trip and Aleksandra was there for school; Kyle (28; New Orleans, Louisiana) and Noon (25; from Thailand), who met through social media when Kyle was looking for a local to show him around Thailand; Loren (27; New York, New York) and Alexei (27; from Israel), who met in Israel while she was on a Birthright trip, where Alexei served as the group's medic; Mark (58; Baltimore, Maryland) and Nikki (19; from the Philippines), who met through an online dating site; and Melanie (33; Orwigsburg, Pennsylvania) and Devar (28; from Jamaica), who met while Melanie was on vacation in Jamaica at a beach resort where Devar worked as a lifeguard. The fourth season follows these new couples on their journeys towards the altar: Nicole (Bradenton, Florida), 21, and Azan (from Morocco), 23, met through a messenger app but have never met in person. Nicole has a 20 month-old daughter and has never traveled outside of America. Narkyia (Camp Hill, Pennsylvania), 36, and Lowo (from Nigeria, living in Vietnam), 28, met on a Facebook group called 'Beautiful Big Women,' when Lowo privately messaged Narkyia. Season 6 of 90 DAY FIANCE premiered on Sunday, October 21, 2018 from 9-11pm ET/PT on TLC. Six couples separated by land and sea are prepared to begin their long and arduous journey as they work to bring their fiances stateside and tie the knot within 90 days, or else risk losing love as their significant others must return to their home countries. The couples this season include:

Kalani (age: 29; Orange County, CA) and Asuelu (age: 23; Samoa): Kalani met Asuelu while she was on vacation in Samoa and Asuelu was working at the resort she was staying at. Kalani, raised Mormon and always taught to save herself before marriage, lost her virginity to Asuelu and got pregnant with his baby. Having to break this news to her family didn't give them the best impression of Asuelu, especially her father who doesn't trust him. Kalani's sister also has an issue with him as Kalani hasn't told her the full truth about their relationship. Now with a five-month-old and only 90 days to impress her family, Kalani and Asuelu must work to overcome the obstacles ahead of them.

Eric (age: 40; Baraboo, Wisconsin) and Leida (age: 29; Indonesia): Divorced with three daughters, Eric met Leida after posting a personal ad on an international website. The two immediately clicked and spent much of their time video chatting until Eric was able to travel to meet Leida in Indonesia, who lives with her parents in a very wealthy and high-class neighborhood. After just two days, Eric proposed to Leida and now they are gearing up for her move to the U.S. Eric hopes that Leida and her son will help create a happy blended family along with his kids. But the age difference between them has Eric's children concerned about Leida's true intentions. In addition, Eric is fully aware that the life of luxury Leida is used to might make it challenging to adapt to his middle-class lifestyle.

Jonathan (age: 32; Lumberton, North Carolina) and Fernanda (age: 19; Mexico): Jonathan and Fernanda met at a club in Mexico, leading Jonathan to extend his trip for an extra three days. He hadn't expected to meet someone during his trip, so he shocked everyone, including himself, when he proposed after just three months. Jonathan has made the most of his bachelor lifestyle and must prepare for the big adjustment of sharing his life with someone else. Fernanda jokes that Jonathan is robbing her of her youth by tying her down at such a young age, but Jonathan sometimes wonders if their 12-year age difference could be the demise of their relationship.

Ashley (age: 31; Mechanicsburg, Pennsylvania) and Jay (age: 20; Jamaica): Ashley met Jay when she went to Jamaica for her friend's wedding. While out with her girlfriends the two met at a club. Ashley didn't expect to talk to him again, but Jay tracked her down on social media. Six months later, Ashley went back to visit, and after spending just eight days together, Jay proposed. Ashley has had two failed engagements, so she's hoping the third time is a charm, but with Jay being so young and having had a wild lifestyle, she's hoping he can be serious about their relationship so that she'll finally be able to stop searching for long lasting love.

Colt (age: 33; Las Vegas, Nevada) and Larissa (age: 31; Brazil): Colt wasn't having any luck with American women, so he decided to look elsewhere and met Brazilian bombshell Larissa via social media. Colt and Larissa both traveled to meet up in Mexico, and Colt proposed after just five days. Colt is a mama's boy and is used to his mom taking care of him and everything he needs, so they both must make adjustments to fit Larissa into their everyday life. Colt worries that Larissa has the wrong impression of what it means to be American after all of her high-priced demands, and Colt's family worries that Larissa is just using Colt for a ticket into the U.S.

Steven (age: 20; Bowie, Maryland) and Olga (age: 20; Russia): When Steven and Olga met on the beach, Olga was only in the U.S. for the summer and the two of them were just having fun. After just a month and a half, Olga became pregnant throwing them for a loop and changing what they thought would be just a summer romance. Once Olga arrived back home in Russia, the two discussed their plans moving forward and decided to get engaged and bring Olga to the U.S. in order to the raise the baby there. Steven's father passed away when Steven was just seven years-old so he is determined to have a presence in his son's life, and the young couple believes that obtaining a K-1 VISA is what they must do to be together. But will Olga's VISA get approved before Steven has to return to the U.S.?

In the two-hour season opener, "The Clock Is Tickin'," everyone is on edge, as the foreign partners get ready to arrive. The 90-day couples face cynical family and stressful visa situations, and one new arrival has her American dreams crushed when she arrives to a disappointing discovery.
