Plot Synopsis

90 DAY FIANCE is a one-hour reality series that follows four couples, each with the bride-to-be visiting the United States on a 90-day fiance visa, as the pairs decide whether or not to get married before their K-1 visa expires and the women must return home. In addition to living together for the first time, these couples must overcome language barriers, culture shock, and the stigma of being thought of as a mail-order bride. Taking the life-altering chance on a cross-border romance, these foreign brides-to-be and their potential husbands discover if their happily ever after is meant to be. The couples in Season 1 were: Alan (from Los Angeles, CA) and Kirlyam (from Brazil), who met while he was on a religious mission in Brazil and have seen each other only a few times since; Louis (from Indianapolis, IL) & Aya (from Philippines), who met online, becoming engaged when Louis proposed on a 7-day trip to the Philippines for their first face-to-face meeting; Mike (from Cleveland, OH) & Aziza (from Russia), who met on an international language learning website, where Mike wanted to learn Russian for an upcoming trip while Aziza wanted to learn English; and Russ (from Owasso, OK) & Paola (from Colombia), who met when Russ moved to Colombia for work and has returned back home with his fiance, as she lives in his parents' house while they decide their future. Plus, featured an additional couple: Len (from Scottsdale, AZ) & Alina (from Ukraine), who met when Len traveled to the Ukraine and have since communicated regularly online. 90 DAY FIANCE returned for its 10-episode second season on Sunday, October 19, 2014 at 9pm ET/PT on TLC. In Season 2, six new couples decide to take a chance on love and bring their spouses-to-be stateside by using a special K-1 visa that requires them to get married at the end of only 90 days...or else return to their home countries. The couples featured in Season 2 are: Brett (Snohomish, WA) & Daya (from the Philippines), who met online while Brett was searching for a Filipino woman with strong family values; Chelsea (from Galesburg, IL) & Yamir (from Managua, Nicaragua), who met during a concert of his Nicaraguan boyband, Myla Vox; Danielle (Norwalk, OH) & Mohamed (from Tunis, Tunisia), who met in an international chatroom and dated online before Danielle made the leap of faith to meet Mohamed in person; Danny (Norristown, PA) & Amy (from Cape Town, South Africa), who were both studying abroad at a bible college in Sydney, Australia; Jason (Spring Hills, FL) & Cassia (from Curitiba, Brazil), who met when Jason travelled to Brazil, where he was immediately awestruck by Cassia; and Justin (San Jose, CA) & Evelin (from Santiago de Cali, Columbia) who met at a rugby world game match in Santiago de Cali, Columbia. Season 3 of 90-DAY FIANCE premiered on Sunday, October 11, 2015 at 10pm ET/PT on TLC. The 10-episode third season features these couples: Fernando (age 39; Miami, Florida) and Carolina (age 22; from Colombia), who met at a nightclub in Colombia while both on dates with their now-exes; Josh (22; Rexburg, Idaho) and Aleksandra (21; from Russia), who met in the Czech Republic while Josh was there on a Mormon mission trip and Aleksandra was there for school; Kyle (28; New Orleans, Louisiana) and Noon (25; from Thailand), who met through social media when Kyle was looking for a local to show him around Thailand; Loren (27; New York, New York) and Alexei (27; from Israel), who met in Israel while she was on a Birthright trip, where Alexei served as the group's medic; Mark (58; Baltimore, Maryland) and Nikki (19; from the Philippines), who met through an online dating site; and Melanie (33; Orwigsburg, Pennsylvania) and Devar (28; from Jamaica), who met while Melanie was on vacation in Jamaica at a beach resort where Devar worked as a lifeguard. Season 4 of 90 DAY FIANCE premieres Sunday, September 11, 2016 at 9pm ET/PT on TLC. The fourth season follows these new couples on their journeys towards the altar: Nicole (Bradenton, Florida), 21, and Azan (from Morocco), 23, met through a messenger app but have never met in person. Nicole has a 20 month-old daughter and has never traveled outside of America. Nicole's family is nervous for her to travel alone, and skeptical of Azan's intentions as they think he is using her for a green card. Narkyia (Camp Hill, Pennsylvania), 36, and Lowo (from Nigeria, living in Vietnam), 28, met on a Facebook group called 'Beautiful Big Women,' when Lowo privately messaged Narkyia. Lowo tried catfishing Narkyia by pretending to live in Alabama, along with other far-reaching lies. Narkyia fears that she can't fully trust him. Matt (Williamstown, Kentucky), 42, and Alla (from Ukraine), 30, met on an international dating site. Matt, married and divorced 3 times, had traveled to Ukraine looking for love. There he found Alla but bringing her to America also means bringing her 7 year old son. Jorge (Los Angeles, California), 25, and Anfisa (from Moscow, Russia), 20, met when Jorge stumbled on Anfisa's Facebook page and began courting her. Soon he was taking her on expensive trips across Europe. Now he plans to show Anfisa a life of luxury in America where he hopes she will fit in with his large family, which includes protective older sisters. Chantel (Atlanta, Georgia), 25, and Pedro (from Dominican Republic), 24, met when Chantel's former Spanish teacher pointed her to Pedro's Facebook page so she could learn Spanish faster. Chantel has hidden the truth about her relationship with Pedro from her family. They think he is entering the US on a student visa and have no idea that Pedro has only 90 days to marry Chantel or leave the country. Season 5 of 90 DAY FIANCE premiered on Sunday, October 8, 2017 at 9pm ET/PT on TLC. The new season features all new stories, including a young Christian singer and her Spanish "prince charming," a mother determined to make it work with her Moroccan beau, an Arizona man hoping the third time is a charm with his Filipino fiance, and a Georgia woman love-struck by her Latin lover. These hopeful couples take a chance on love and bring their potential spouses-to-be stateside. Using a special K-1 visa, they are required to get married at the end of only 90 days or else, by law, be forced to return to their home countries. The couples featured are:

Elizabeth (age 27; Tampa, Florida) and Andrei (age 31; Chisinau, Moldova) met on a social app while she was looking for a local guide for her European vacation. The two chatted online, met up in person and their romance began soon thereafter. She is excited to bring Andrei to the U.S., but her father and brothers are skeptical that Andrei's conservative traditional views on gender roles will derail the relationship.

Evelyn (age 18; Claremont, New Hampshire) and David (age 27; Granada, Spain) met when he came across the aspiring singer's social media account and soon the two began messaging back and forth. Evelyn met David in person and was immediately captivated with his sweet nature and strong Christian values. The whirlwind fairy-tale romance could be in jeopardy because his desire to be in a bigger city, conflicts with her love of small-town life and close proximity to family.

Josh (age 43; Mesa, Arizona) and Aika (age 36; Quezon City, Philippines) met on a dating app and he was drawn to her profile despite being accidentally matched outside of his local search. A few months later after messaging with her, Josh flew to the Philippines to propose to Aika with an engagement ring and she said yes. Now Josh plans to bring his fiance back to Arizona, where she will not only feel the heat from the desert sun but also Josh's skeptical friends.

Molly (age: 41; Woodstock, Georgia) and Luis (age: 26; Santo Domingo, Dominican Republic) met at a local bar where Luis bartends while she was on a girls' trip to the Dominican Republic and after less than two months, Luis proposed to Molly. Luis will have to endear himself to Molly's two daughters, 17-year old Olivia and 6-year old Kensley, although, a tougher challenge will be convincing Molly's stoic conservative father that Luis wants more than just a green card.

Nicole (age: 23; Bradenton, Florida) and Azan (age: 24; Taroudant, Morocco) met for the first-time last season and now Nicole is heading back to Morocco and hopes that she can finally bring Azan back to America. This time she's not going alone; she is bringing along her 2-year old daughter May in hopes that Azan will prove to be the father figure May has never had and the partner that Nicole has always wanted. Nicole still needs to convince her skeptical father to co-sponsor the K-1 visa or lose Azan forever.
